Reg Lenna Will Screen Two Films This Week

The Reg Lenna Center for the Arts will screen the films Jules and The League this week.

Jules (today at 7 p.m.) follows Milton, who lives a quiet life of routine in a small western Pennsylvania town, but finds his day upended when a UFO and its extra-terrestrial passenger crash land in his backyard.

Before long, Milton develops a close relationship with the extra-terrestrial he calls “Jules.” Things become complicated when two neighbors discover Jules and the government quickly closes in. Jules is rated PG-13 and is 90 minutes long.

The League (Saturday at 8 p.m.) celebrates the journey of Negro League baseball’s triumphs and challenges through the first half of the twentieth century. The story is told through previously unearthed archival footage and interviews with legendary players like Satchel Paige and Buck O’Neil – whose early careers paved the way for the Jackie Robinson era – as well as Hall of Famers Willie Mays and Hank Aaron who started out in the Negro Leagues. The League is unrated and is 103 minutes long.

Upcoming Movies at The Reg include a 40th anniversary special engagement showing of Brian DePalma’s Scarface (Sept. 13 at 7 p.m.) and Cillian Murphy in the title role of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer (Sept. 30 at 4 p.m.)
