Festivals Fredonia, Inc., a not-for-profit organization run by volunteers, will be hosting its annual Red, White and Blues Festivals on Friday and Saturday. This two-day music event sponsored by Fredonia Beaver Club, takes place throughout the village of Fredonia at various bars, restaurants and in Barker Common. This event showcases the area's local wine industry, hence the "Red" and "White," along with various local "Blues" artists.
The event will be featuring some great local and national talent this year in the opener and headliner. The opening act on Saturday in Barker Common is the MCJ Band, followed by our headliner act Tommy Z. Both bands are from the Buffalo area and should bring along a great crowd for all to enjoy.
Starting Friday, "Uptown" performances will occur at the Fredonia Memorial Post 59 American Legion and Fredonia Beaver Club. On Saturday, "Downtown" events will continue in Barker Common, which will feature the Fredonia Farmers' Market in the East side of the park, in addition to food trucks/vendors, craft and wine vendors, 50/50 raffle and basket/gift certificate raffle throughout the day in the West side of the park and the downtown area.
Live music will begin on in the gazebo at noon with the MCJ Band, followed by Tommy Z at 3 p.m. Throughout the day on Saturday live music will be featured at various downtown Fredonia bars and restaurants starting at 1 p.m. There will be live music every hour or half-hour at a different downtown venue.
A commemorative t-shirt will be available at the Fredonia Beaver Club on Friday night or in Barker Common on Saturday at the Festivals Fredonia tent for $20. There will also be commemorative stemless plastic wine glasses, celebrating DFT Communications' 125th anniversary for $3, plastic cups for $1, koozies, $1 and 21 ounce wine glasses for $2. Pick up a rack card indicating where the bands will be playing and/or scan the QR code for venue details, the official map and to enter into the cocktail contest. Try all the featured beverages and submit it electronically for a chance at winning a commemorative Red, White & Blues t-shirt.
A 9/11 memorial motorcycle run and fundraiser to benefit the Fredonia Memorial Post 59 American Legion veteran banner fund also will take place. Registration starts at 10:45 a.m. and kick stands up by 11:30. Riders will visit various Chautauqua County locations and meet back the Fredonia Post 59 American Legion for lunch and in time to see Tommy Z perform. Registration is $15 per rider and includes lunch and a beverage after the event. There will be a raffle going on for the benefit: steel artwork piece entitled "We Will Never Forget" provided by Echevarria Designs LLC. Donations are $1 for a raffle ticket or 15 for $10, and the drawing will be held at the end of the festival.
