Grape And Wine Festival Planned In Westfield: “Toasting The Grape Juice Capital Of The World”

WESTFIELD — The inaugural Grape and Wine Festival will be held Saturday in Westfield at the Grape Discovery Center and Moore Park in Westfield.

The Grape and Wine Festival is an ode to the Westfield area’s longstanding love affair with grapes, tracing back over a century when the first vines were planted in the region. The festival aims to honor local winemakers and grape growers who have nurtured the vines for the Concord Grape juice and other grape juices and wines.

There will be artisan exhibitions and wine tastings along with a local farmers market and vineyard tours on guided hay wagon tours through vineyards where attendees can witness the beauty of the vineyards and learn about the labor of love that goes into nurturing the grapevines throughout the seasons.

There will also be engaging stations conducted by vineyard experts. Through interactive displays and equipment exhibits, visitors will learn about the pioneers who established the vineyards, the grape varieties that thrive in the region as well as the evolution of grape growing and winemaking techniques over the years.

There will also be live entertainment and family friendly activities that include grape stomping, trolley rides, bounce houses and face painting.
