An Ellery man has been charged in connection with a Saturday morning fire.
Daniel Lutgen, 41, was charged with second-degree arson and second-degree menacing. It is alleged that during a dispute, Lutgen displayed a knife and made threatening statements to a victim before the 8:30 a.m. blaze.
It is also alleged that Lutgen intentionally set fire to a building while another person was inside the building. Lutgen fled the scene prior to law enforcement's arrival but later returned to the scene and was taken into custody.
Lutgen was taken to Centralized Arraignment at the Chautauqua County Jail and is being held on bail.
