Summer Events Set In Cassadaga

CASSADAGA — In addition to the concerts that have been planned in the village this summer, plenty of other events will showcase the village, as well.

The Lew Mead Memorial Youth Fishing Tournament begins on the morning of Saturday, June 24 at the DEC Launch. Cassadaga Beach opens that day, as well, with lifeguards on duty from noon to 6 p.m. each day. Lifeguards are contracted through Aug. 20, but the beach will remain open past that date without lifeguards on site.

Also of note this summer, Cruise Night events will be held June 27, July 25, and Aug. 29 from 6-9 p.m.; while Flares and Boats Around the Lake, presented by Cassadaga Lakes Association, will be on July 4 at 9:30 p.m.; while a Beach Picnic at Cassadaga Beach is Aug. 18 at 5:30 p.m.

Editions of the STTC Triathlon, presented by Wilson Endurance Sports, are on July 5 at 5:45 p.m.; Aug. 2 at 5:45 p.m.; and Sept. 21 at 10 a.m., with a focus on kayaking, biking, and running. A special STTC Kids Triathlon is set for Aug. 12 at 10 a.m. Register for any of the races at coachmarkwilson.com or call (716) 353-1288 or (914) 466-9214.

The Labor Day Festival kicks off Sept. 2 with the Cassadaga Man event – featuring a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile bike ride, and a 13.1 mile run around Cassadaga Beach – presented by Wilson Endurance Sports. A Boat Parade will be Sept. 3 at 4:30 p.m., with a pirate theme.

On Labor Day, a craft/vendor show will be held Sept. 4 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., with the Labor Day Parade beginning at 11 a.m., the Ducky Derby set for noon at the bridge on Maple Ave., and a bicycle dice run beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Cassadaga Beach.

The summer events schedule concludes with a Moonlight Paddle Across the Lakes at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 30.
