Westfield Farmers’ & Artisans’ Market opens Saturday

Saturday is the first day of the Westfield Farmers’ & Artisans’ Market.

WESTFIELD — The Westfield Farmers’ & Artisans’ Market will kick off the 2023 season today.

It will operate every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through September in the center of downtown Westfield. It takes place under the trees in Moore Park, Routes 20 and 394.

The Westfield Farmers’ & Artisans’ Market started 16 years ago in 2007. It is a New York Certified Market meaning food and artisan crafts must be grown and made locally. It features live music in the gazebo and food trucks by the water fountain.

“Response to the call for vendors this spring has been amazing. We exceeded the number of accepted full-time member vendors by 11 over last year’s record. We have many new specialty foods vendors, a new farm, and quality artisans. The market has several additional farms accepting the Farm Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) vouchers. The market will be great destination this year,” said Kate Mayer, chair of the Westfield Markets Organizing Committee.

The Markets Committee also added a vintage flea market in 2021 and it’s grown each year. It takes place next to the museum in another part of the park.

“We encourage everyone to participate in the Westfield Flea. From micro businesses, vintage and antiques, clothing, yard sale items. It’s really anything goes as long as its family friendly,” said Staunzie Grady, Westfield market manager.

Information and applications can be downloaded from WestfieldNY.com. For more information contact Mayer at 716-753-0367.
