FALCONER -- The Thule Lodge held its annual Easter dinner in Falconer with the 3Cs catering a meal.
The Easter dinner is known as "Egg-sexa" meaning foods made with eggs. Included in the dinner was ham, scalloped potatoes, carrots, deviled-eggs, tossed salad, breads and two kinds of cake. The blessing before the meal was given in Swedish by Birgitta Hofert.
Following the meal, chairman Susan Sipos conducted a business meeting. Secretary John Sipos read the minutes of the previous meeting and gave a role call of officers. Treasurer Loretta Smith gave the financial report of the lodge. A thank you was expressed to Gene and Loretta Smith for organizing the dinner. The charter was draped and a moment of silence was held for two members who recently passed away.
Two new members were welcomed to the lodge. Janice Kelley-VanOrd and Kelley Liskow were welcomed by all for their interest and joining the lodge. New members are always welcomed.
The monthly meeting award was presented to Vaughn Wilson. Trustee/auditor Scott Axelson reported that the Scandinavian Festival will be held in July. Cultural leader Mary Ann Eva Ingrao spoke about the Swedish children's dance team.
