Mayville Senior Citizens To Play Mini Golf

MAYVILLE — Twenty-seven members enjoyed a pot luck and pizza luncheon at the Mayville VFW in Mayville, on May 18. The invocation was done by Dianne Goodrich. Following three short jokes, she led everyone in the Lord’s Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. President, Jeff Wagner, called the meeting to order.

The secretary’s report was read. Corrections to the minutes regarding the Mayville Animal Sanctuary involved changing the name to Snip, Tip and Return instead of Snip, Tag and Return With no other additions or corrections, a motion to accept the report was made by Darlene Harper; seconded by Dolly Gilbert; passed. There was no correspondence. Kathy Sukalac, Treasurer, gave her report. Motion was made by Joyce Ayers to accept the report; seconded by Sandi Wagner; passed.

President Jeff Wagner reported the Senior Council will be meeting with the Mayville Seniors on June 8 at 10 a.m. Everyone is welcome. He reminded everyone that Putt Putt Golf will be June 1 after the meeting.

Goodwill Chairperson, Mary Carlson, said farewell and that she had enjoyed being Goodwill Chairperson very much. Linda Anderson has agreed to take over the position. She asked for card donations. The tour director is working on some more tours and welcomes any ideas. The kitchen committee of Roberta Rosage, Joyce Ayers, Dolly Gilbert, with the help of VP Bonnie Johnson was thanked.

Dianne Goodrich gave Janet Loomis the oath of office to become the assistant secretary.

Door prizes were won by Mary Carlson, Marge Carlson, and Sharyn Giardina. The lottery was won by Sharyn Giardina as well.

At the next meeting on June 1, attendees will play putt putt golf for $2 per member at Webb’s Captain Table . The cost for nonmembers will be $4. The meeting was adjourned at 1:15 p.m.

The members enjoyed learning how to play and then playing the game “wordle” for cash prizes. Fun was had by all.
