Sat., April 29th is National Independent Bookstore Day

TJ Buck

Local author TJ Buck will hold a book signing at the Good Neighbor Bookstore in Lakewood from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 29.

The writer’s seven book is a crime novel and a sequel to his previous novel, Here Be Lions, featuring a former professional boxer, who gets involved with an inner-city drug king pin, a charismatic cult leader and various other unsavory characters to repay a debt from his past.

“Here Be Lions was more of a straightforward crime story even though the main character is not a cop or a private investigator,” Buck said. “The sequel came about because the characters in Here Be Lions stayed in my head and didn’t seem to want to go away. So, I eventually just sat down and wrote “Are You Ready to Die? I really just thought there were a lot more areas to explore with these characters.”

Buck has also written The Great Twitch, Isn’t It Pretty To Think So?, Of Bloody Deeds And Death, and A Terrible Thing and Beyond The Pale.

Buck is a Jamestown native and Falconer High School graduate who spent more than 20 years as an award-winning journalist for various newspapers across New York state and in Arizona before returning to his hometown to write fiction full time.

Starting at $3.50/week.
