With the prediction of ideal weather, Audubon Community Nature Center is adding an Audubon Lights Pop-up on Thursday from 8:30 to 10 p.m.
At Audubon Lights, on a luminary-lit path visitors experience a trail of lasers, spotlights, rain lights, and more through the woods and around the ponds. The walk ends in the backyard of the Nature Center, where there is a warm fire, hot drinks, popcorn, and LED Dancing by Bex, a mix of hula hooping and other forms of LED entertainment.
Audubon Lights will conclude, as scheduled, on Friday and Saturday from 8:30 to 10 p.m. Friday night music is by Thee Ukuladz, a duo playing original and cover songs accompanied by ukulele and guitar; Brandy Welch entertains with LED hula hooping. Saturday night features the Vivacious Hoopster, and Jackie Bielata plays a mix of folk, alternative, indie and 1970s rock.
The Nature Center building is open during the event so you can play in the indoor nature play area, visit the live animals, or shop in the Blue Heron Gift Shop. Visitors who buy a Nature Center membership at Audubon Lights receive four free items from the outdoor glow store.
Admission is $12 for adults, $9 for Nature Center members and children 3 to 15, and free for ages 2 and under. Paid reservations are appreciated by the night before. They can be made by calling 716-569-2345 during business hours or going to AudubonCNC.org and clicking through Programs and Events. Walk-ins are welcome.
Sponsors include Ahlstrom Schaeffer Electric, Kwik Fill, Shawbucks, Buffamante, Whipple, Buttafaro PC, and Courier Capital.
