The Prendergast Library is adding new programs for 2023.

There is no cost to attend library programs.

Beginning January 25, the library will host its new Teen Game Night on the last Wednesday of each month from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Options include a staff-led Dungeons & Dragons one-shot or traditional board games like Spyfall and Munchkin. No prior game experience is necessary, and some snacks will be provided. Teen Game Night is for youth ages 12 to 18.

On Jan. 30, make music at the library during classes for children and caregivers. Jan. 30 is a non-school day for Jamestown Public Schools students, and the library will hold family music time with the Community Music Project. Children will sing, dance, and explore basic instruments at this class for ages 6 and under. Two different sessions are available at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. A parent/caregiver must also attend the class. For children six and up, join Infinity Visual and Performing Arts for a free introductory drumming class. On Feb. 8 at 5:30 p.m., the library will hold a new program for adults: Books & Brews, a monthly book club at Brazil Craft Beer and Wine Lounge. Each month, attendees can socialize and participate in a book discussion led by librarians. February’s book is Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir.
