Light A Life Memorial Service, Tree Lighting Begins Dec. 3
LAKEWOOD — Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care announces the return of the annual Light a Life Memorial and Service of Remembrance, streamed live on Facebook, on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m.
The event serves as a remembrance for all members of the community who have lost a loved one. All community members are invited to participate regardless of whether they had a loved one who was on hospice services.
Each year Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care lights its Memorial Tree and assembles light towers which include the names of all loved ones being memorialized. The holiday season can be especially hard for those grieving the loss of a family member, and this event strives to show that no one is alone in their grief. Digital LAL programs will be available on this page on the day of the event.
Anyone can memorialize a loved one and have their name included if an ornament is purchased in their memory or if their name is submitted to us on the Light a Life event page of our website at CHPC.care.
Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care is once again partnering with and supporting local merchant, John’s Wood, who will be producing memorial butterfly ornaments for 2022. John’s Wood is based in Ashville and specializes in wood cut decorations. This year’s design is a 2-layer, wood cut and hand-painted butterfly ornament, which will cost $25. A larger, 10-layer butterfly decoration is also available for $150. Ornament orders must be received by Nov. 28 to be included in the Memorial Program and Light Towers. Orders can be made at CHPC.care
