As the president was going to be late, Vice President Laurie Russell welcomed 39 members and 11 guests to the meeting of the Harmony Senior Citizens.

A Thanksgiving lunch prepared by Julia Nelson was enjoyed by all. Four students from Panama Central School assisted in serving the meal. Chaplain Lois King read “Thanksgiving Prayer” and offered the dinner prayer.

Veteran Keith Miller lead the salute to the flag. All veterans were asked to stand and were recognized for their service. Music was provided by Morgan Lloret. Table hosts were thanked for the beautiful Thanksgiving decorations. The committee was comprised of Sally Hagg, Ellen Coffaro, Marsha Scott and Tracy Mingle. Sally thanked many others who hellped including Dorothy, Judy and Ann.

Cindy McIntyre won the door prize, a beautiful fall centerpiece.

Russell honored members celebrating birthdays in November with small gifts. Members present were Mary Lou Garfield, Ellen Lord and Frank Roth. Members not at the meeting including Shirley Earls, Bill Sweeney and Tom Karlson will be sent birthday cards.

Dottie Enlow reported on the recent trip to Sight and Sound to see “David.” Everyone enjoyed the trip and performance.

Roberta discussed the Christmas in the village of Panama, which will be held Dec. 3 in the community room of Panama United Methodist Church. As no food was included in the event, a motion was made by Wendie Raynor, seconded by Lois King and approved by members for the Seniors to sell Chili and soup, hot dogs for kids, and coffee. Members were asked to volunteer to make crock pots of chili or soup. Members will be contacted to sign up to serve.

The next meeting is scheduled to Dec. 1 at noon at the Panama United Methodist Church.
