Cornell Cooperative Extension is holding an online meeting from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, to update farmers and the public on the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza.

Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza is still circulating in the United States, with the number of cases in both commercial and backyard flocks increasing during the fall. To date, there have been 468 cases in the country, affecting more than 46 million poultry across 40 states. Wild bird positives are nearing 2,500 for the country. Now, cases are increasing as the weather cools and fall migrations start.

Registration for the Oct. 12 Zoom meeting is required by visiting https://www.tinyurl.com/HPAIFall22. The presentation will be recorded for those who are not able to attend the meeting and will be automatically sent to those who have registered. There will be ample time for questions following the official program.
