Gabby Giffords Won’t Back Down will be shown at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts.

The film tells the story of Arizona Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, her fight to recover following an assassination attempt in 2011, and her new life as an activist for gun violence prevention and in promoting understanding of aphasia. Featuring extensive filming of Gabby and her husband, astronaut-turned-Senator Mark Kelly; interviews with Barack Obama and other friends and colleagues; and exclusive access to stunning videos taken in the weeks following her near-death experience, the film is the story of a woman transformed by an act of violence, and a close-up portrait of the marriage that sustains her. Gabby Giffords Won’t Back Down is rated PG-13 and is 98 minutes long.

Upcoming Movies at The Reg include the French historical drama Eiffel, Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m., the blockbuster action film, Top Gun: Maverick, Friday, Aug. 19, at 7 p.m. and the animated hit, Minions: The Rise of Gru, Friday Aug. 26, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 27, at 2 p.m. as a sensory friendly showing.
