“The Worst Person in the World” and “The Tragedy of Macbeth” will be shown this week at the Reg Lenna Center for The Arts.
Chronicling four years in the life of Julie, The Worst Person in the World (Wednesady at 7 p.m.) examines one woman’s quest for love and meaning in the modern world. Fluidly told in twelve chapters, the film features a breakout performance by Cannes Best Actress winner Renate Reinsve as she explores new professional avenues and embarks on relationships with two very different men in her search for happiness and identity. The film was nominated for two Oscars, including Best International Feature Film. The Worst Person in the World is rated R and is 128 minutes long. It is presented with English subtitles.
Joel Coen directs The Tragedy of Macbeth (Saturday at 8 p.m.) an adaptation of Shakespeare’s tale of murder, madness, ambition, and wrathful cunning. The film stars multiple Oscar nominees and winners, Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand. The Tragedy of Macbeth is rated R and is 105 minutes long.
