The Panama Players will perform “Matilda” live on stage at Panama Central School today and Saturday.

“Matilda” is a family-friendly show that follows the adventures of a young girl, Matilda, as she begins her school career and struggles to deal with unloving parents and a horrible headmistress, Miss Trunchbull. Fortunately for Matilda, her teacher, Miss Honey, and her classmates are on her side.

“Matilda” is co-directed by Debbra Bailey and Stacy Taylor. The choreography was designed by Holly Weston in 2020, when the show was originally scheduled to be performed. The entire cast of Matilda is excited to finally be performing the show for the community. Many of the original cast have graduated, and all but three original cast members had to take on new roles, but the students rose to the challenge and are ready to bring “Matilda” to the stage.

“Matilda” is being presented today and Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Starting at $3.50/week.
