Cassadaga Auxiliary Unit 1280 Meeting Recap

CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga Legion Auxiliary Unit 1280 met recently.

President Vicki Yonkers held the informal meeting with the members who attended. First, the ladies took down all of the post’s Christmas decorations. The ladies present discussed the upcoming department president’s visit in February. There was also discussion on a recent funeral luncheon and protocol for funeral luncheons in the future.

It was noted that membership for Unit 1280 is now at 83%; those who owe dues are asked to pay. There was also discussion on how to recruit more new members and a future induction ceremony.

Looking forward to the summer months, if the Sons of the Legion hold their cruise-in nights, the auxiliary will continue with its bake sales, perhaps branching into salads to go with the burgers, hot dogs and sausages the Sons of the Legion provide. Members are also planning their May rummage sale, as well as some other fundraisers.

The next Unit 1280 Auxiliary meeting will be Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 6:30 p.m.; all Unit members are encouraged to attend.

Unit 1280 has corn brooms for sale for $12 each; and Unit 1280 continues to collect stamps, Pennies for Hospice; and can tabs for Troop support and coupons that need to be only manufacturer coupons which are cut, and put into categories:

¯ Unexpired, or expired (not more than two months)

¯ Sub-categories such as food items, non-food items, baby food/items, pet items.

All coupone should then be labeled and put in separate baggies.
