Audubon Taking Birdseed Orders Through Friday, January 28

Give feathered friends in a backyard a mid-winter treat and stock up on their favorite birdseed at a special price.

The Audubon Community Nature Center provides birdseed at a discounted rate at sales twice a year. Friday is the deadline for ordering birdseed and related treats from ACNC’s Winter Birdseed Sale, which also acts as a fundraiser for the Audubon.

The most popular seeds and mixes are available. Conewango Blend, unique to Audubon, was developed to attract favorite and common winter species of the region such as chickadees, cardinals, and titmice. There are also suet cakes for woodpeckers and a mix to attract finches.

To place an order, stop by the Nature Center, call 569-2345 during business hours, or go to AudubonCNC.org/Shop. Save 20% on Audubon’s Conewango Blend Birdseed prices by ordering through this sale.

Members receive an additional 10% discount on birdseed purchases.

Pick-up at Audubon is Saturday, Feb. 12, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Volunteers will load the fresh seed, direct from the supplier. Call 569-2345 ahead of time for another pick-up time.

Audubon’s own Conewango Blend is available year-round in the Blue Heron Gift Shop in the Nature Center and at Allegheny Outfitters, Warren, Pa.; Ashville General Store, Ashville, N.Y.; Biodome Project, Jamestown, N.Y.; Ekey Florist and Greenhouse, Warren; Everyday’s True Value, Jamestown; Lakewood Apothecary, Lakewood, N.Y.; Lighthouse Point Grocery, Mayville, N.Y.; Oneida Lumber ACE Hardware, Warren; and Wegmans, Lakewood.
