Director Of WCA Foundation Introduced Into The Rotary Club

Rotarian Stacey Hannon introduced Kristin Melville, new executive director of the WCA Foundation in Jamestown, to the members of the Rotary Club of Jamestown at a recent meeting of the club.

Melville grew up in Jamestown and returned to Jamestown after spending the last 25 years in Maine as a fundraising professional. She is a graduate of the State University at Fredonia as well as Jamestown Community College.

Born and raised in Jamestown, Melville’s parents were Swedish immigrants. Her father managed Midway Park and Long Point State Park. In her 25 years in Maine, she worked for various hospitals, foundations and hospice organizations.

Melville gave an overview of the WCA Foundation and its importance to the community and UPMC Chautauqua. The WCA Foundation is comprised of 48 endowed funds. The investment portfolio is approximately $18 million. WCA Foundation has funded more than $600,000 to improve healthcare through the purchase of vital medical equipment at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Chautauqua (UPMC), supporting patient care close to home.

Rotary is a service organization whose purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. The noon Rotary meets at 11:45 a.m. Mondays at the Doubletree Hotel on Fourth Street. Visitors are welcomed.
