Patterson Library Schedules September Children’s Events

WESTFIELD -- This September is filled with fun at Patterson Library.

Current library hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Take n' Go craft bags are perfect for having do-it-yourself fun at home. Starting Sept. 7, children ages 6-12 can grab a STEM "bubble lamp in a bag." Then, starting Sept. 9, teens 13-18 can stop by the library to grab a "tealight planets" kit. They're free, and available at the children's area desk during regular library hours.

Summer story time may be over, but special story time days are still planned to occur throughout September! Littles Story Time for ages to 2 will be happening on the second and fourth Fridays of September. Sept. 10's story time will take place at 10 a.m., while Sept. 24's will be combined with our Stuffed Animal Sleepover. Children's Story Time for ages 2-5 will take place on the Sept. 10 and 17 at 10:45 a.m.

On Sept. 24, children to age 8 are invited to a special family story time and stuffed animal sleepover at 5 p.m. Come dressed in PJs for story time and leave a stuffed animal buddy to stay the night.

The library post what the animals get up to on our social media. Animals will then be available for pickup starting Sept 29.

Following this program, at 7-8:30 p.m. on Sept. 24 tweens ages 9-12 are invited to come play a game of hide and seek within the library! Additionally, they will be able to help with the stuffed animal sleepover.

On Sept. 28 from 8-9:30 p.m. will be the next "Teen Night" with "Come and Play Murder in the Dark." There's a murderer on the loose in the dark, picking the innocents off one by one.
