The Busti Historical Society announces the return of its largest event, the Busti Apple Harvest Festival. Set for Sunday, Sept. 26, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the festival will feature family friendly activities, area vendors and fall favorites.

The 46th annual event will be at 3443 Lawson Road, Jamestown, home of the Busti Grist Mill and festival grounds. The 2020 festival was canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, another unfortunate casualty of social distancing and state mandates. As the festival accounts for more than 80% of the Busti Historical Society’s annual budget, as well as offers a fun family friendly atmosphere for community residents, society members are thrilled to once again host the festival that has become a traditional staple in Chautauqua County.

The event will be held rain or shine. Admission is $5 per person with parking remaining on the firemen’s grounds, with entry from Sugar Grove Road and Lawson Road as in years passed. Festival attendees are asked to not bring pets. Children under 12 are admitted free.

The apple fest will feature food vendors, including Merritt Estate Winery’s slushie truck; craft vendors and demonstrators; and of course, traditional fresh baked pies, apples, and apple cider.

A farmers’ market will also be on site. Both the grist mill and Miller’s House will be open for tours. The Miller’s House, renovated over the past year and a half, reflects a traditional home in the Victorian era.

New this year will be a relocation of craft vendors. Vendors who have been on the road and firemen’s grounds are planned to be set up on the BHS campus grounds so that all vendors are in the same area.
