Mary Kay Cook and her grandchildren sang “God Bless America.” Members brought a bag lunch and their own drink.

President Roberta Karlson welcomed everyone and thanked all for their affirmation in allowing her to serve as their president and looks forward to a rewarding time. Roberta thanked Tom Smith for getting all Beverly’s notes and books to her, which have helped her in preparing for the meetings.

Secretary Wendie Raynor read thank you notes from the family of Delores Haley for the donation to Hospice in her memory. The minutes from the last meeting were read and approved. Mary Lou Garfield gave the treasurer’s report. A reminder that dues of $5.00 are due in September.

Dottie Enclow, Trip Chairperson, reported the Panama Seniors do not have any trips scheduled at the present time. There was interest in a trip for the near future with a possibility of going to the dinner theater in Erie. Dottie will check this out. She reported there was an excess of money in the trip account and it was approved by the officers to send $100 to the Humane Society.

Roberta has checked with the church secretary and luncheons and dinners can be served at meetings but the food must be cooked in the church kitchen and each dish has to be served by only one person.

A chicken barbecue is scheduled for the August meeting. The meal includes half a chicken, scalloped potatoes, baked beans and a roll. The cost is $10 and reservations and payment are due at the July meeting. Members are to bring their own drink.

Dottie Enlow is chairman of the nominating committee. The slate of officers will be announced at the August meeting with open nominations from the floor.
