CLFA Presents Check To CLA

Mark Damon, Chautauqua Fishing Association president, presents a $2,000 check to Dr. Rudy Mueller, Chautauqua Lake Association board president.

LAKEWOOD — The Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association recently presented a check for $2,000 to the Chautauqua Lake Association to help with annual operational expenses.

The CLFA has been an annual supporter of the CLA’s mission to keep the lake healthy and clean since 2006. To date, the Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association has contributed over $50,000 to the CLA.

“We treasure having a close working relationship with the Fishing Association and all of the various fishery organizations,” said Douglas Conroe, CLA executive director. “Protecting fishery habitat is an important part of lake management that must always be taken into consideration. Fishing activity is significant to the local economy. We thank the Association for its continued support.”

Member support is critical to the success of the CLA’s summer programs, as the annual fund drive is the primary source of revenue for the association. The fund drive enables lake maintenance services including harvesting, shoreline cleanup and removal of floating debris to be undertaken. Additionally, the CLA also facilitates ongoing scientific monitoring of Chautauqua Lake and its ecosystem.
