Jamestown BPU Delays Falconer Spring Water Main Flushing

The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities has delayed village of Falconer spring water main flushing due to high water levels. The flushing in Falconer was scheduled for the past weekend, with a pre-flush on Friday, April 30, 2021, followed by flushing at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 1.

When Falconer flushing is rescheduled, notices will be placed with local media and on the BPU website at www.jamestownbpu.com, FACEBOOK and Twitter.

Daytime flushing in the rest of the water system begins, weather-permitting, on Monday, May 3, and continues through Friday, May 7; and Monday-Wednesday, May 10-12. Hours are from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. each day except for Wednesday, May 5 when flushing begins earlier at 5:30 a.m. and extends until 5 p.m.

Non-residential customers should have received telephone notice of their dates for flushing a month ago, while residential customers will be notified by telephone two days in advance of their scheduled flushing days. Calls are made outside of the Falconer flushing territory.

Flushing location maps appeared in the BPU’s April customer newsletter, in the Post Journal on April 24 and May 1 and are posted on the www.jamestownbpu.com homepage. Flushing is advertised through local media.
