Four Candidates Running For Jamestown School Board Seats

Four candidates will be on the ballot for the Jamestown Board of Education election May 18.

There are two open seats, each for a three-year term beginning July 1, 2021. The candidates are Frank Galeazzo, Gina Sink, Nina Karbacka and Krysta M. Rives. For more information on the candidates, visit jpsny.org/election.

The JHS PTSA will hold a “Meet the Candidates Night” on Thursday, May 13, at 6:30 p.m. in the Board of Education Room in JPS Administration Building, 197 Martin Road. The forum will be streamed live at jpsny.org/election. If a community member would like to attend the forum in person, due to COVID-19 restrictions, they should reserve a space with JPS district clerk, Jaunita Walter, at 483-4420 or jaunita.m.walter@jpsny.org by noon on May 13. Questions for the candidates can also be emailed no later than May 12 and she will forward them to the moderators.

Normal health and safety protocols must be adhered to while in JPS buildings including: wearing masks, sanitizing hands upon entry, having temperature checked and completing a COVID-19 form.

The 2021-22 budget vote, Capital Improvement Project votes and Board of Education election will be held on Tuesday, May 18, from noon to 9 p.m. at Lincoln Elementary School, Jefferson Middle School and Washington Middle School.
