YWCA To Host Annual SAR April 23

The YWCA Jamestown will host its annual Stand Against Racism (SAR) at 3 p.m. April 23.

Those who want to take part can do so from their home or office. The theme of the 2021 Stand Against Racism is “From Declarations to Change: Addressing Racism as a Public Health Crisis” and highlights the work YWCA local associations do to dismantle systemic racism and break down racial barriers in more than 1,200 communities nationwide. YWCA Jamestown officials said in a news release they want to \create a montage of YWCA Jamestown partners displaying their commitment to taking a Stand Against Racism. Those interested can sign up at wwww.ywcajamestown.com/stand.

Other ways to take part include:

¯ Wear a YWCA Jamestown Stand Against Racism t-shirt or purchase a Stand Against Racism yard sign/window cling at www.ywcajamestown.com/stand, or at the YWCA, 401 N. Main St., Jamestown, NY 14701.

¯ Gather co-workers, neighbors or family and have them join together outside from 3 to 3:30 p.m. wearing Stand Against Racism gear and holding purchased or homemade signs.

¯ Take a photo or record a video and send them to sar@ywcajamestown.com

¯ Log onto www.ywcajamestown/stand to take a pledge to Stand Against Racism.

¯ The montage will be complete and shareable on Monday, April 26.
