Youth Employment Gearing Up For Summer

Each summer, Chautauqua Works connects Chautauqua County youth ages 14-20 with career exploration, workshops on job readiness, financial literacy, skills training opportunities and entry-level jobs in a variety of industries, including government agencies, hospitals, summer camps, non-profits, small businesses, museums and retail organizations. Amid the uncertainty related to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, this year’s program may look different from the traditional program in prior years.

To be eligible for the Summer Youth Employment Program, attendees must: reside in Chautauqua County; be between 14-20 years of age; and meet income eligibility guidelines (guidelines can be found at chautauquaworks.com.

To apply for the Summer Youth Employment Program, send an email to jcheney@chautauquaworks.com or call 487-5193 expressing interest in the Summer Youth Employment Program.

Include the following information in a message: youth’s first and last name; mailing address (including apartment number); phone number; and email address.

An eligibility packet will be mailed to interested individuals. The individual will be asked to return the completed packet back to Chautauqua Works in a stamped, self-addressed envelope so that social distancing can be observed.

Packets will be available April 5. Completed eligibility packets will be accepted until May 21. Mailed applications must be postmarked no later than May 21 to be considered for the Summer Youth Employment Program.
