Proctor Seeks County Legislature Seat

The Chautauqua County Republican Committee has endorsed Martin J. Proctor of Findley Lake as its Republican candidate for Chautauqua County Legislative District 18 at its Feb. 23 meeting.

Proctor has previously served in the position, fulfilling the remainder of the term of David Himelein, who passed away in 2019. Proctor was born and raised in Findley Lake and has been very active in the community his entire life.

He is a graduate of Clymer Central School and received a degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He is employed by Nuttall Golf Cars, Inc. as regional sales director and has been in the golf car industry since 1991.

Currently, Proctor is a town of Mina councilman and is appointed to the sewer study work group and as an advisor to the Findley Lake Fire Department. He has been chairman of the Mina Republican Committee for more than 15 years.

Other activities include 21 years as a trustee of the Findley Lake United Methodist Church, director and officer for the Findley Lake Watershed Foundation, and served as president and director of the Alexander Findley Community Library.

Proctor has also been endorsed by the Chautauqua County Conservative Committee as its candidate for the Nov. 2 general election.
