More Best Picture Nominees To Screen At Reg Lenna

The Sound of Metal screens Friday at 7 p.m. The movie is nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

Sound of Metal stars Best Actor Nominee Riz Ahmed. Metal drummer Ruben begins to lose his hearing. When a doctor tells him his condition will worsen, he thinks his career and life is over. His girlfriend Lou checks the former addict into a rehab for the deaf hoping it will prevent a relapse and help him adapt to his new life.

After being welcomed and accepted just as he is, Ruben must choose between his new normal and the life he once knew. Sound of Metal is rated R and is 130 minutes long. In addition to Best Picture and Best Actor it is nominated for Best Supporting Actor – Paul Raci, Best Original Screenplay, Best Film Editing and Best Sound.

Reg Lenna Center for The Arts will screen the remaining Best Picture nominees in May including: Mank on May 5 at 7 p.m. and The Trial of the Chicago 7 on May 7 at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the movie is $7 per patron. Each patron will also be charged a $1 fee for additional cleaning of the theater due to COVID-19.

Seating is limited due to social distancing mandates. Masks are required of all patrons. All tickets must be purchased ahead of time.

Additionally, temperature checks, contactless concession sales and social distancing markers will be in place at the theater. All patrons will be shown to socially distanced seats by ushers. All surfaces in the theater will be cleaned between movie showings. New, compliant air filters have been installed in the theater.
