Hope Chautauqua Announces Inaugural Virtual 5K Run

HOPE Chautauqua, an initiative of Prevention Works, is announcing its inaugural virtual 5K Run.

Run or walk the 5K (3.1 miles) any time in May, with organizers encouraging use of the free It’s Your Race virtual app. It will automatically track and map a route and then enter the results online.

A $25 registration prior to April 10 gives participants the chance to add a “Run for HOPE” t-shirt. A $20 registration does not include a t-shirt, but will allow runners and walkers to participate. Those who want to donate instead of participate can send donations online or send them to Prevention Works, 509 N. Main St., Jamestown, NY 14701.

The first-, second- and third-fastest times will receive a $25 Amazon E-Gift Card. Beginning May 8, Hope Chautauqua officials will select a random individual each Saturday among participants who have completed a 3.1-mile course that week to receive a $10 Amazon E-Gift Card. The prize is only available to those who use the It’s Your Race app. For more information on how to download the app www.itsyourrace.com/mobile-app.aspx
