Fenton Hosting Two New April Events

The Fenton History Center is hosting two new virtual events in April.

Today at 7 p.m. the center is coordinating with the Fenton History Center Gift Shop for A Virtual Interview With an Author with Mike Johnson, author of the new book “The History of the Jamestown Airport.” The event is free and will be presented over Zoom and Facebook.

Center officials will ask Johnson what inspired him to write the book about Jamestown’s airport. There will be a question-and-answer time at the end of the interview. Visit the Fenton History Center Facebook page for more information.

The second new event is a military-themed virtual house tour led by an intern from Jamestown Community College, Karlie Blodien, as partial fulfillment of her internship. The tour will take visitors virtually through the museum with a focus on its collections and connections to military history throughout the house. Among the topics to be discussed are why Gov. Reuben Fenton was known as the soldier’s friend. The house tour \will take place Saturday, April 24, and Friday, April 30, at 7 p.m. for a $10 donation. Visit www.fentonhistorycenter.org or call 664-6256 to reserve a spot.
