The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue Dog of the Week is Loki, a handsome, young and lively mix of perhaps husky and something. He is definitely a diamond just waiting for some polishing; he seems to like all people, but he isn’t sure about most others dogs and is probably too bouncy for younger children and possibly cats. He would thrive with lots of exercise and obedience training. He wants to please, but he doesn’t know much of anything yet. He does like to play fetch and would be a great companion in an energetic home. The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue is located at 7540 N. Gale St., Westfield, but is currently open only by preapproved applicant appointments. The rescue’s website, www.caninerescue.org, shows many of the available dogs and has online applications.
