Students Of The Month Named At Chautauqua Lake

Students of the Month at Chautauqua Lake Central School, honored for November and December 2020 achievements, are Saige Keefe, Sydnie Tutmaher, Emily Hawkins, Quinn Putney, Kenadie Wilson, and Asher Olson.

Keefe, a senior, is the daughter of Cindy and Mike Keefe of Mayville. The class she enjoys most this year is band, where she has played the trumpet since she was in seventh grade. She has also competed on the Envirothon team in tenth and eleventh grade, participated in the GSA in eleventh grade, and also played softball in eighth and ninth grade. She earned her Academic Letter last year. Saige is planning on attending college to become a veterinarian.

Tutmaher, a junior, is daughter of Tom and Stephanie Tutmaher of Mayville. This year she is enjoying U.S. History class the most. Syd has enjoyed participating in Ski Club, Language Club, Art Club, and Trap Club, where she earned Highest Score for CLCS as an eighth grader and served as president in both ninth and tenth grades. Syd has earned highest average in her English, Geometry, Global, Spanish, and Chemistry classes. In her spare time outside of school, Syd enjoys shooting trap, hunting, drawing, painting, and spending time with friends and outside. Sydnie hopes to attend college for a career in chemistry.

Hawkins, a sophmore, is the daughter of Ryan and Julianne Hawkins of Ripley. She is enjoying Chemistry, Spanish, and Geometry the most this year. Emily has competed on the school’s softball team since she was in seventh grade. She has been awarded Student of the Month in previous years. Outside of school, Emily enjoys listening to music, collecting beach glass, and spending time outside. After high school, Emily plans to attend a four-year college and major in nursing.

Putney, a freshman, is the daughter of Michael and Melissa Putney of Mayville. Her favorite classes are algebra and art this year. Quinn has competed on the school’s soccer, basketball and track teams since seventh grade, and she also participates in the school’s chapter of Sources of Strength. She has been on the High Honor and Honor rolls and earned the Kindness Student of the Month award in seventh grade. In the future, Quinn is interested in working with people either through psychology, a medical field, or teaching. She also would like to travel and experience as much of the world as possible.

Wilson, an eighth grader, is the daughter of Kim Meleen of Mayville and Matthew Wilson of Dewittville. She enjoys Physical Education and math the most this year. Kenadie competed on the swim team in seventh grade and the soccer team in eighth grade. She has been on the high honor roll. Outside of school, Kenadie enjoys baking and hanging out with friends. Her future goal is “to become successful in whatever I choose to go to school for.”

Olson, a seventh grader, is the son of Leah and Ryan Olson of Dewittville. This year, he is enjoying gym, math, and lunch the most. Asher enjoys participating in Ski Club this year. Outside of school, he enjoys football, baseball, and playing video games. He is still undecided about his future goals.
