What’s New Fair Canceled

Like many events this year, the AAUW Jamestown Branch has canceled the What’s New Fair for 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The AAUW Jamestown Branch has held the What’s New Fair for the last 65 years, with hope to hold the celebration again in 2021. Jamestown Community College has been providing a location for the event and, with a focus on the health of their students and faculty, the campus is not hosting community events this year.

Each year the What’s New Fair event raises money for women’s scholarships. To date, over $500,000 have been awarded to women completing their degrees. The 2019 What’s New Fair proceeds were awarded to these recipients in 2020: Madyson Abbey, who is studying occupational therapy; Adrianna Carlson, who is studying occupational therapy; Jenna Caskey, who is studying exercise physiology; Allison Cummings, who is studying business and accounting; Luisa Fanara, who is studying occupational therapy; Danielle Flasher, who is studying business administration; Jo Ella Lane, who is studying environmental science; Joana Leamon, who is studying media arts; Sabrina Long, who is studying business administration; and Alexandria Raynor, who is studying engineering.
