Hundreds Of Girls Across Western New York Enrich Their E-Commerce Skills

Popular Girl Scout Fall Product Program returns to help Girl Scout troops fund their programs and activities while also giving back to the military.

The Girl Scouts of Western New York’s Fall Product Program has returned, combining educational activities with money-earning opportunities for Girl Scout troops to help pay for programs, community service projects and other special activities.

Girl Scouts is not cancelled; and hundreds of girls across Western New York will put their entrepreneurial, e-commerce, and cyber-safety skills to work as they use an online digital platform to engage close friends, family, and the general public to order candies, nuts, magazines, and other related items. The Fall Product Program runs through Oct. 28.

The community can support a local Girl Scout when they stock up on Thin Mints Almonds, Peanut Butter Bears, Dulce de Leche Owls, English Butter Toffee, Dark Chocolate Mint Penguins, Dark Chocolate Caramel Caps with Sea Salt, Chocolate Covered Raisins, fat free Fruit Slices, Dill Pickle Flavored Peanuts, Salsa Mix, Whole Cashews with Sea Salt, and, new this year, Peanut Butter Trail Mix. Prices range from $6 to $40.

Through the Fall Product Program, girls gain solid money smarts and the knowledge of how to navigate selling products in a digital environment.

Girl Scout Research Institute studies show that 90% of girls say it is important for them to learn how to manage money and 88% of girls say that it is important to set financial goals.

Girls are also taught the importance of cyber-safety as they use a digital database to track their orders and send out electronic emails to their customers.

This primarily friends and family program teaches girls five skills: goal-setting, decision-making, money management, people skills and business ethics.

Girls also learn the benefits of working together as a team, as well as earning money to support their activities throughout the year.

Customers can also elect to help the local military.

Through the Fall Product Program – Share Donation Program, customers can choose to purchase items to benefit local military personnel and veterans.
