Colley Receives Eagle Scout Award

From left are Donna Hunt, scout supporter and DAR member, Nate Colley, Sharon Terwilliger, DAR House Committee chairman, and Connie Pilato, chapter regent.

For his Eagle Scout service project, Nate Colley of Lakewood, with the help of Tri-James and Scott’s Landscape and Nursery, spent the summer working with the Jamestown Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

Colley is a member of Jamestown Boy Scouts of America Troop 162. He created a perennial flower bed with the inclusion of a working sun-moon dial on a pedestal that is fitting with the era of the New York State Daughters of the American Revolution home. In order to make this all happen, Colley had to research the era of the house, research the plants so they are resistant to deer, as well as create the base for the sun-moon dial. All of this took more than 70 volunteer hours.
