The Chautauqua County Joint Veterans Council has awarded Laura Johnston the Chautauqua County Joint Veterans Scholarship for 2020.

Laura is a 2020 graduate of Brocton Central School with an average of 97.4%. During high school Laura participated in the following: soccer, basketball journalism, band, student council, National Honor Society, French Club, yearbook, dance, Interact Club, a student mentor and was selected and attended the American Legion Auxiliary’s Empire Girls State held at the State University at Brockport.

Laura also received several honors and awards including: Rotary Scholar of the Month, Bausch and Lomb Science Award, George Eastman Award, Student of the Month, first team all-star for soccer, Distinguished athlete award, WDOE Athlete of the Day and the principle character award.

Laura is attending the State University at Alfred and majoring in medical technology.
