MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County July Fourth Celebration Committee, in conjunction with the village of Mayville and the town of Chautauqua, will sponsor a fireworks show presented by Skylighters Fireworks out of Orchard Park today.

The show will be shot from the waterfront at Mayville Lakeside Park so the park will be closed to the public for the entire day. The boat launch in Mayville will also be closed from 5 a.m. to midnight today.

By moving the shoot site to the waterfront organizers are increasing the viewing area from which it can be seen. Fireworks can be viewed from anywhere on or around the north end of Chautauqua Lake.

The majority of the committee’s fundraisers were cancelled this year due to the pandemic. Donations can be sent to CCJ4CC at PO Box 229 Mayville, NY 14757.
