Kennedy Holiday Parade

Residents of Kennedy were cheered as members of the Kennedy Fire Department proceeded along the usual parade route from the Town Hall to Riverside Cemetery on Memorial Day. Both Falconer and Randolph fire departments sent equipment and personnel to join in honoring those who have sacrificed so much for their country. Leading the procession was Robert Swanson as wreath bearer. A Vietnam veteran and life member of the Kennedy Fire Department, this was Swanson’s 49th year as wreath bearer and, like so many others, the day has special meaning for him. When the group arrived at the cemetery, Swanson placed the wreath at the veterans monument, while Brittany McElwain played Taps. This year, the Kennedy Fire Department had ordered special flags and metal holders that were placed on all the graves of fallen KFD members.
