Ring Elementary School first graders recently presented their can good donation to Kristina Near, shelter manager for The Anew Center. Every year, the entire first grade class collects can goods for an organization in honor of the first 100 days of school. This year, they exceeded their 100-can goal, collecting 162 for the Anew Center. “We are so grateful for this donation from the children,” said Near. “It is so wonderful to see the children learning to give back to their community and to have compassion for others who might be in need. We really appreciate their efforts to help us.”
