Library Hosts Cardboard Box Day-Themed Story Hour

Cardboard Box Day was the theme of a recent story hour class at the Falconer Public Library. Ashley Nelson, story hour director, created a castle for the children out of cardboard. She read Not a Box by Antoinette Portis and Christina Katerina and the Box by Patricia Lee Gauch. The children decorated the walls of the castle with beautiful hand drawn pictures. They made binoculars from cardboard tubes, and, while looking through them, found a fire breathing dragon in the library. They used their imaginations and several props made from cardboard to put out his flames. The children also had a snack with their new dragon friend. Pictured are Nelson and children from the 4-year-old story hour class in front of the cardboard castle.

Starting at $3.50/week.
