Make Your Own Winter Decoration At Audubon

Area residents can celebrate the winter season by making a holiday decoration with natural greens at the Audubon Community Nature Center.

The center will host Decorating With Greens Make and Take between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m Saturday. Those attending can create something of their own design and take home a unique holiday decoration. Examples of centerpieces and wreaths will be available.

Cut greens and some other materials are provided and those attending are encouraged to bring additional materials such as ribbon, wire, pruners, and holiday decor to aid in making your creation.

This self-guided activity is fun for all ages.

Fee is $6. No reservations are required.

Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown, N.Y., and Warren, Pa. The three-story Nature Center building contains interactive displays, a collection of live animals, and the Blue Heron Gift Shop; hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. The 600-acre wetland preserve with more than five miles of trails for hiking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing, and Liberty, the non-releasable Bald Eagle, can be visited from dawn until dusk daily.
