Creche Members Shop For Service Project

Pictured are Judy Bentley, Creche co-chair, and Suie Stuart, Creche member.

Twenty-nine Creche members recently gathered at Old Navy to shop for their annual Community Service Christmas Project.

Creche members shopped for 63 children from 18 different area schools. Youth group members from Zion Covenant Church assisted by helping Creche members chose age-appropriate gifts for the children. Recipients were selected by local school guidance counselors and nurses.

As part of its mission to give back to the community, the Old Navy Store at the Chautauqua Mall offered a discount, extended its hours and provided assistance for the Creche shoppers to fulfill their lists of needed clothing items. In addition to clothing for each child, holiday giftbags for the families containing a WalMart gift card, a family game, toothbrushes donated by Dr. Andrew Kohl, other personal care items and a letter from Creche.

The Creche Inc, founded in 1900, is a local not-for-profit women’s organization comprised of 100 volunteers whose mission is to help needy children and their families in the greater Jamestown area. To donate, join or learn more about Creche, visit www.crecheforkids.org or the Creche Facebook page.
