Mayville Seniors To Hear Sheriff

Mayville Seniors enjoyed a harvest dinner with all the trimmings Nov. 2 prepared by the DeWittville Christian and Missionary Church.

The meal was enjoyed very much by all the attending members. After the meal the monthly meeting was held and all the reports were given. Jeff Wagner reported the Senior Council will be held at the Mayville VFW on Nov. 14.

Wanda Gustafson, nominating chairman, named the officers for next year. They are: Janet Loomis, president; Bonnie Johnson, vice president; Wanda Gustafson, second vice-president; Darlene Barney, secretary; Fran Miller, alternate; Edna Brown, treasurer; Ruth Neal, alternate.

The new officers will be sworn in at the Dec. 5 meeting.

Darlene Harper volunteered to bake the ham for our Christmas dinner. Attendees are asked to bring a dish to go with the ham and place setting. This will be the only meeting in December.

The welcomed one new member, Amalia Yochum. Door prizes were won by Mary Carlson, Judy Ottaway, Roberta Rosage, Mary Lynn Caster, Janet Loomis, Linda Taylor, Amalia Yochum, Fran Miller, Wanda Gustafson and Jerry White.

Janet reminded the members that if Chautauqua schools are closed for weather problems the seniors will not meet. After the meeting members were entertained by Steve Eng and Mark Davis singing many songs.

Guest speaker Dec. 5 will be Sheriff James Quattrone speaking on the ever-changing situations in law enforcement in the county.
