‘Oktobenefest’ Event Set To Benefit St. Susan Center

The 12th annual “Oktobenefest” fundraising event for the St. Susan Center soup kitchen will be held on Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. at the Southern Tier Brewing Company, 2072 Stoneman Circle, Lakewood.

The cost is $25 admission and includes beers, brats and music by Brian K. Chase. Sysco Pittsburgh will also be supporting this event as part of Nourishing Neighbors program.

Each ticket holder will also go home with a St. Susan Center commemorative glass. There will be opportunities to purchase St. Susan Center memorabilia, T-shirts and sweatshirts, as well as chances to win 50/50 giveaways and the final drawing of a “Wheelbarrow Full of Booze” (winner does not need to be present to win the final drawing).

The entire proceeds from sales of food and drinks will go to St. Susan Center.

Beverages may also be purchased at The Empty Pint during Oktobenefest hours.

“We are so proud to be supported by this community as we celebrate our 35th year anniversary of feeding those in need,” said Bonny Scott-Sleight, executive director. “It is a wonderful celebration of compassion, support and collaboration.”

Additional information is available by calling St. Susan Center at 664-2253, and on the center’s website at stsusancenter.org. St. Susan Center is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to feeding the hungry.
