Boo & Brew Festival Set Friday, Oct. 4

MAYVILLE — The Court Appointed Special Advocates of Chautauqua County will hold its third annual Chautauqua Boo & Brew Festival on Friday, Oct. 4 at the CHQ Barn in Mayville.

Doors open at 6 p.m. with beer and wine tastings from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be live music by For The People, dancing, a costume contest, giveaways and yard games. Food and a cash bar of beer and wine will be available for purchase by Andriaccio’s Restaurant and Catering. Tickets are $20 and designated driver tickets are available for $10. Tickets are available at the door, EBC West in Fredonia, Crown Street Roasting Company in Jamestown, from any board member or by calling CASA at 753-4132. The event is for those ages 21 and over.

“While the brewery and winery list is unique, so is the venue,” says Kathy Park, CASA executive director. “The new CHQ Barn is a beautiful, rustic venue nestled in the countryside of Mayville. The vaulted, beamed ceilings and sliding barn doors offer guests the feeling of being in a secluded setting while enjoying the natural beauty of the barn. The venue is truly stunning.”

The brewery and winery list includes Five & 20 Spirits and Brewing, Mazza Chautauqua Cellars, Nostrovia Brewing Company, Resurgence Brewing Company, Erie Brewing Company, Ellicottville Brewing Company, Southern Tier Brewing Company, Big Inlet Brewing Company and Johnson Estate Winery. Each admission ticket includes five tastings with an additional five tastings available for purchase.

Trophies will be awarded in the scariest, funniest, most creative, best couple, best group and most whimsical costume categories.

“Our sponsors and supporters are the building blocks that allow our program volunteers to advocate for more abused and neglected children each year,” said Kelly Fiorella, CASA fund development coordinator. “Every dollar raised during our annual fundraisers is allocated to recruitment, training and support of our volunteers. Our goal is to provide every abused and neglected child in foster care the experience of having a CASA volunteer by their side until they reach permanency in a loving home. We are very humbled that our community has continued to allow us to do so.”

Sponsors include A Fresh Start, Andriaccio’s Restaurant and Catering, TKR Enterprise/CHQ Barn, The Media One Radio Group, AXA Advisors, UPMC Chautauqua, Cummins, SKF, Basil Chevrolet Buick Cadillac, Caflisch Pallet & Wood Services, The Lakeside Ledger, Lake Shore Savings Bank and Pharmacy Innovations.
