Lakewood Memorial Library To Host Food For Thought Event

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Memorial Library will host its third annual Food for Thought fundraising event on Friday, Sept. 20, beginning at 7 p.m. Held at the library located at 12 W. Summit St. in Lakewood, Food for Thought will feature locally sourced food from Jamestown’s own Planet Earth and wines poured by members of the staff at Lakewood’s Bag & String Wind Merchants.

A silent auction will be part of the evening’s enjoyment and will feature items donated by local businesses and individuals. This year’s gathering will also feature a special giveaway. Lakewood Furniture Galleries has donated a beautiful, plaque-mounted reproduction of an 1855 print of Chautauqua Lake made by Matthews, Northrup and Company. The print will be on display at the library prior to the event. Tickets can be purchased at the library service desk and will also be sold at the event.

New for this year’s event, attendees will be able to enjoy festivities outside on the new Delores Nelson Reading Terrace, and view the newly constructed amphitheater built in memory of Will Churchill and funded through private donations.

Reservations for Food for Thought can be made at the library service desk by Sept. 17. Admission is $50 with all proceeds benefiting the Lakewood Memorial Library.
