Pair Charged With Endangering The Welfare Of A Child
CELORON — Two people are facing child endangerment charges after police say five children, ages 3 to 11, were left to “take care of themeselves.”
Officers with the Ellicott Police Department responded Friday to 10 Venice St. in Celoron to check the wellbeing of children at the residence. Officers found the home to be in “deplorable conditions,” and that the children were left to themselves while 31-year-old Andrew S. Klendle and 25-year-old Nichole S. Blake both slept.
Klendle and Blake were taken into custody on five counts each of endangering the welfare of a child. Klendl was also found to have a parole warrant and was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The pair was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.
