On June 25 Family Service of the Chautauqua Region School Based Social Workers (SBSW) completed a 5-day trauma specific therapy training called the Progressive Counting Course with Kriss Jarecki, ACSW, LCSWR. Kriss is a consultant and trainer in EMDR and Progressive Counting. More information is available on her website at harmonyhearthwisdom.com. For more information on this and other trauma services and trainings visit their website, childtrauma.com

The FSCR clinical team was looking for a treatment method that is effective in all age groups but especially with children and with better tolerability to be able to provide the treatment in the school setting.

The Progressive Counting method will enable their school-based clinicians to do just that. Currently these SBSW clinicians provide services within the Jamestown Public Schools and are slated to be available at the new Success Academy in the former Rogers Elementary school. FSCR also provides School Based Social Work services at Chautauqua Lake Central School, Clymer Central School District, Frewsburg Central School District, Randolph Central School, and Sherman Central School District.

For more information about these services please contact David Steward, Executive Director of Family Service 488-1971.
